Jubilee Year

We have enjoyed celebrating the Jubilee Year. On this page, you will see some of the work and celebrations we took part in as part of this year.

Jubilee Prayer for Schools 🙏🏼

God, our loving Father,
In this Jubilee year,
you remind us of our call to love creation.
Help us to work together
to replant, repair, and renew.
Guide us on our journey as pilgrims of hope.

Jesus, our light,
In this Jubilee year,
you remind us of our call to love our neighbours
and to set free those who suffer.
Help us to treat everyone with dignity;
to be fair, forgiving and kind.
Guide us on our journey as pilgrims of hope.

Holy Spirit, our inspiration,
In this Jubilee year, you remind us of our call to grow in faith and love.
Help us to hear you in scripture, to see Jesus in others,
and to be united as God’s global family.
Guide us on our journey as pilgrims of hope.

Amen

We celebrated the Jubilee Launch Day in January 2025. This year was a Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church. A time to grow in faith and live out our faith in our community. Pope Francis has declared the theme of this Jubilee 'Pilgrims of Hope'.

As a school, we marked the start of the jubilee year and the start of our journey this year. Classes learned about the Jubilee and started to think about how they will put their faith into action over the next few months.

At the end of the day, the school gathered together to pray the Prayer of Hope. Children from each year group (even reception!) presented to the rest of the school about what they had been working on today. It was lovely to hear about the different activities that took place around the school to mark the launch day. Thank you to Mrs. Marriott for organising our celebration together.

After our 'Pledge Day' in June, some of our children attended the Annual Schools Mass in Portsmouth to present our School Pledge for the Jubilee Year.

Our School Pilgrimage

The children from Year 5 and 6 planned to take on a Pilgrimage around Maidenhead. They planned to do this alongside the children from St. Mary's Catholic School.

Their route began at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Maidenhead. From here, the route continued to Cookham and St Elizabeth's Catholic Church and then back through Cookham Dean to St. Edmund Campion Catholic Church where Father Liam had prepared a mass for the children to be a part of. The route is a total of 7 miles.

Unfortunately due to very hot weather in July, this event had to be postponed to to 2026. The Year 5 and 6 children are looking forward to taking this pilgrimage on in the summer term. However, in the meantime, the staff enjoyed the pilgrimage on a cold and muddy Saturday in November.
