Autumn is here and the season is changing. How can you tell?

A large proportion of the homeless community used to be in the armed forces – what can we do to ‘Remember’ them on Sunday?
Poppy Appeal
We are selling poppies and other accessories from the school office.  Costs range from 50p -£1 if your child wants to bring in money.
Individual and sibling group photos will be on either the 8th, 9th or 14th November.
Own Clothes Day-Friday 10th November
In return for wearing their own clothes, the children are asked to bring in a donation for our Christmas Hampers which will be raffled at the Christmas Fayre.  Suggestions include chocolates, mince pies, Christmas puddings, Christmas crackers.  We do also create hampers of beauty products.
PTA Quiz Evening
This will be held on Saturday 11 November at 7.30pm in the school hall. Bar opens at 7.15pm. Please bring your own snacks. Tables ideally of 6 to 8 people (can be ladies or men only if you want to avoid baby sitters!). £5 per person. To book, please email or drop your money into the school office with team details on the envelope.
PTA AGM-Tuesday 14th November, 8.00pm
All parents are welcome to this meeting in the staffroom.  This is a change from the original date.
Cinema Trips
The following trips have been arranged:
Wednesday 15th November-Y3
Wednesday 22nd November –Years 4, 5 and 6
The children will be walking to the cinema, leaving just after 9.00 as the films start at 10.00.  If you feel your child cannot walk the distance you are welcome to pick them up from school and meet us at the cinema in Maidenhead just before 10.00 and return to pick them up at the end of the film.
Christmas Shopping Evening-Friday 17th November, 7.00pm
This promises to be an exceptional evening with over 30 stalls of Christmas present ideas for you to buy.  You can also enjoy a glass of wine with friends.  Make sure you put this date in your diary so you don’t miss out.

Parents’ Evenings-27th and 28th November3.30-6.00
The sign up sheet to book your time with your child’s class teacher(s) is available on the doors to the main entrance for all classes.  Y2s will have additional slots available from1.00-5.30on Thursday 30th November as their meetings will be with both teachers.  Additionally, Mrs Van Schie will have some slots on Tuesday afternoon from 1.30 onwards.
Please attend the meeting at least 15 minutes early to look, with your child, at their work in their classroom.  Available in their tray will be a home school agreement for you to read and sign and an information sheet to fill in regarding your child’s interests, talents, targets or whatever comments you wish to make.  Please leave both documents in the tray when completed.  Y5/6 children are expected to attend the meeting with their parents. Other age groups can watch DVDs outside my office whilst you chat to the teacher.  Please try to stick to your 10 minute slot so that people are not kept waiting; if you need a longer time do arrange this for a later date.
Christmas Fair-3rd December
The Christmas Fair team would like your help with the following if possible:
Do you work for a company that could donate a prize for our raffle? If so please get in touch with Angela Billson or Margaret Kiernan through the school office or the PTA Facebook page. We would love to hear from you.
We need donations of old bottle bags, gift bags, empty wine bottles with screw lids and full bottles for the bottle tombola. The donation box is in the school reception.
Gifts for the Elderly
One of our end of term Christmas activities is visiting the elderly at a number of residential homes.  We like to take gifts with us and if you are happy to donate, will collect these after the Christmas Fayre.  Items such as socks, pop socks, jewellery, biscuits etc would be ideal.
Copas Turkeys
If you are intending to buy a turkey from Copas and are ordering online, if you use the code SEC14 £5 will be donated to the school.

18th December,7.00 Yr 2 Christmas performance for parents.
