Year 5/6 Girl’s Kwik Cricket Tournament

Two St. Edmund Campion girl’s cricket teams joined seven other teams and took part in the annual Year 5/6 Ascot and Maidenhead girl’s Kwik cricket tournament at Maidenhead and Bray cricket Club, recently.

The twenty two girls with mixed experience, played outstanding cricket, showing excellent batting, bowling and fielding skills.

Both teams finished 2nd in their groups with the ‘B’ team progressing to the final having beaten Furze Platt ‘B’ in the semi-final. The final against Courthouse was very close, with their opponents batting skills making the difference between the two sides.

Team ‘A’ completed a very successful and enjoyable  afternoon with a fine win against Furze Platt ‘A’, for 5th place play off.

Both finalists will now represent Ascot and Maidenhead at the Berkshire school games.

Very well done to the girls who took part.
