Year 5 children enjoyed learning about how people in Japan celebrate New Year. They found out that 2017 is the year of the rooster and they made cards to their family and friends to send them good wishes.
Children enjoyed playing a game called Karuta where they made cards of the new vocabulary about New Year traditions. They played in pairs, with the aim of being the first one to show the correct card when Sensei (teacher) called out a word. Much fun was had by all!
