On behalf of the governing body, I would like to welcome our families back to school at the start of another exciting school year. I hope you all had an enjoyable summer break and are feeling refreshed.
We would particularly like to welcome all new families into our school and parish community, most of whom will have children starting school for the first time. We hope our reception and year 3 children (who will be starting in the juniors) settle in quickly. As always, if you have any queries please speak to your class teacher in the first instance. Mrs Opalko is also available.
As we start a new school year, I would also like to welcome Mrs Camp-Overy into her new role as Deputy Head. I would also like to welcome Mrs Ashwell to Year 5 and Miss Thomson to Year 4. We are fortunate to have them as part of our team.
As governors we are involved in a diversity of issues such as pupil welfare, policies, finance, building maintenance, pupil admissions and staff appointments. However, the most important role is to ensure the welfare and education of our pupils.
The governing body is appointed to ensure objectives are met, that we have aspirational plans for the future and that we ensure our Catholic ethos is maintained. Ultimately, the result is access to an enriched education where all our children will thrive.
We are justifiably very proud of the children in our school and would like to thank all the parents who encourage and support their children so well.
If you would like to contact me to discuss anything please do so first by contacting Mrs Opalko. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible throughout the year.
