St Edmund Campion is awarded the status of Global Learning Expert Centre
St Edmund Campion has been awarded the status of Global Learning Expert Centre. The Global Learning Programme (GLP) is an exciting national initiative funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and delivered by a number of partners including the Institute of Education, The Royal Geographical Society, The Geographical Association and Oxfam. Over the next five years, the programme will receive considerable financial investment to support work in Key Stages 2 and 3.
St Edmund Campion will act as a hub offering high quality training related to Global Learning through a partnership network of neighbouring schools. The concept of Global Learning will permeate all areas of the curriculum and will equip children to understand their role and succeed in a globalised world. In addition to the acquisition of global values such as “Fairness”, “Respect” and “Social Justice” and increased knowledge of global themes like “Poverty” and “Inequality”, pupils will develop excellent global learning skills which support their literacy, numeracy and communication.
