The Big Tidy Up is England’s biggest-ever litter pick. During October our Eco Group’s aim was to get the team out and about, cleaning up. We learnt about the importance of helping tidy our community and understanding that small actions can be the start of big changes. We spent an afternoon tidying up our school environment. The children worked very hard on a cold day! The Eco team passed on the importance of keeping our community tidy to their classmates.
As part of looking after our school environment, the Eco reps decided they wanted to plant some daffodils, focusing on our front entrance. The group decided it would make it more welcoming in Spring to have a beautiful display of vibrant yellow daffodils. Our Eco reps worked hard digging up the ground and planting the bulbs. We are looking forward to their appearance soon!
During the Spring term the Eco group plan to tidy up our bee and butterfly garden (outside the lower junior classrooms) and sow some more seeds to ensure this wildlife is continually encouraged.
